God alone is faithful and mighty beyond measure; do not put your faith in the teachings and "wisdom" of men, but in His word, which He supplied for you. In it, you may teach and be taught to serve Him. The word of the Lord is profitable for all things great and small. It is a precious gift from God, and we treat it as nothing. We take His love for granted, and feel entitled to more. What arrogance and foolishness have we embraced! It's like a disease, this complacency which we have fallen into. Some people go to church on a Sunday, and think that is all they have to do to be counted as a follower of Christ's. Do any of us deserve anything good? Doesn't Romans tell us time and time again that there is none righteous among us, not even ONE?! How DARE we expect things of God beyond what He has already graciously provided?! God has given us all that we need to survive, which is more than we deserve already, and still we ask for more! Surely, the Lord is weeping and wrathful at our greed.
